Cicero is a culturally vibrant community made up of first and second generation families who face the need to access support services in order to thrive in the community. The Cicero Community Collaborative (CCC) is a catalyst for community transformation. We connect Cicero youth and families to the programs and services they need to build healthy and successful lives and communities.
For the past 6 years, we have provided a framework for Cicero families to work in partnership with community organizations, schools, businesses, religious institutions, and government leaders to transform individuals, families, and our community. We believe that empowering residents to be agents of change strengthens the social fabric that binds our community together.
Prior to the pandemic, Cicero families faced a critical need for immigration services, affordable food and housing, quality health care, prenatal care, daycare, early childhood education, schools, and safe neighborhoods. But in the past two years, Cicero families have experienced the perfect storm of health disparities, income inequality, food insecurity, community violence and trauma, mental health crisis, and academic underperformance. CCC and its partners work together to help Cicero youth and families overcome these issues.
